Spring break!!! Started it out with service at a local food bank with some of the youth.  Such a good morning helping and being together with people we love.

Then we ended the day celebrating Pi day (3/14).

Then the kids and I headed to Burnet, TX to explore caves and some state parks.

The caves did not disappoint.  The tour guide was a little long winded and went over the time allotted and Hazen was definitely done but we had fun and learned a lot.
Then we went to a cute Ma and Pa restaurant next to our hotel and everyone ate like champs that night.

Kids slept fairly well and we had a great Texas themed breakfast.

Then off to Ink Lake State Park.  Perfect day for hiking and exploring.

There were some hills and lots to see. We did a 3 mile loop and everyone enjoyed it.

After lunch we rented a canoe and got on the lake.

A couple of them were scared at the beginning but everyone enjoyed it and wanted to keep going when our time ran out.  It was a quite little trip with the kids but it went so well.  We all had fun and everyone was throughly exhausted when we got home.

St. Patricks day fun.  Just green food nothing too special.

Then Clifton's birthday!  He's 12, how did that happen!?
We decided to get him a phone.  He is getting older and I like to know where he is and when we leave him at home with the other kids I like to have a way to contact him.  We have tons of restrictions on it tome me feel better and made him sign a contract.  Hoping we can teach him how to properly use a phone and not misuse it.

Clifton asked to go camping for his birthday.  The youth trek was this year and he assumed he got to go because he turned 12 but its for 14 and up.  So he wanted to camp, we let him bring a friend.  It's our first time camping with all the kids and first time in Texas. Off to another state park, Eisenhower State Park.

It dropped do in the 30's that night and we froze, we the kids kept warm but Alex mostly froze cause he gave away his blankets.  But the kids did really well.
Thank goodness the burn ban was lifted so we could all warm up next to the fire.

Stanley lost a tooth in the middle of the night!

Lots to explore and it got hot up in the 80's by the time we left.  That was hard on my body, trying to stay warm all night and then sweating by noon.

On our way home we stop by the house President Eisenhower was born in.
Nothing to impressive and he didn't stay in Texas long after he was born, but we can say we've been there.

Then Sunday we rested after a crazy full and fun week.
