Mother's Day

Updates on Clifton -
Works very hard on his school work which is great but he wants so much approval along the way.  Mom look over this, how does that sound, is that right, etc... I am happy he wants to do it right and his best but I am exhausted with all the questions.

Updates on McKay -
Gave such a great talk for church this week that came with homemade stickers for everyone.  I am loving church at home and getting the opportunity to hear the kids sweet testimonies.

Updates on Stanley -
Has been having real hard time with school at home.  He wants a lot of attention but with me trying to help the older kids get school work done and make sure they stay focused and a needy toddler I don't have a ton of time to give him.  Which has lead to lots of acting up, hitting, yelling, sticking his tongue out and spending lots of time in his room alone.  This has been the hardest for him, but this week I tried to make more time for him and to spread my time better between them all.  It helps that Clifton and McKay can finally get themselves going and know what is expected of them.  And it was a good week for him!

Updates on Hazen -
So dang cute and fun!  He is obsessed with his Dad and wants his Dad all the time.  Which isn't too bad because when Alex is done with work Hazen goes straight to him the rest of the night giving me some space and time to make dinner.  New word this week... move!  "Move mom!"

We had a lot of fun this week.  Lots of things to celebrate, I love a good theme.
First May the 4th be with you...
Homemade lightsabers cause someone hits too much to have real ones.
Attacking Darth Vader and Storm Trooper balloons.
Lightsaber and water fun.
Nice shot!

And Cinco De Mayo...
Homemade piñatas. Then Taco Bell picnic dinner.

 PE for the week...
Homemade slide.  A little bumpy for us big kids.
Flying kites!  It's pretty much always windy here.
Walks and feeding turtles.
Ultimate Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Gardening and apparently you need snow gloves and swim googles for that.
Finding worms and making potions.

Art this week...
Make birthday and farewell signs for our friends who are sadly moving after we just got to know them.
 Teacher appreciation cards.
Chalk paint.
Tin can lanterns.

And since I made sure to make more time for Stanley we had some fun preschool activities this week too...
Using out lightsabers to attack letters and words.
So proud of him!  We are getting there!
Playdoh time.
Finding words and reading them.
And worksheets!

Friday and Saturday we spent in our flower beds replacing the bushes and roses for succulents for my mothers day gift.
Before.  It was nice before but the roses are only in bloom for a little time and I wanted something different from the rest of the neighborhood.
After.  This is very new to us and hopefully we don't kill them but we like how it turned out.  Excited to see how much they slowly grow and fill in.

Alex also put up some fun lights in our media/dance party rooms.  It's awesome!  So much fun to be had.

Then after dinner we got out for a picnic and a nice walk to a waterfall.
Such a fun walk and nice place to cool off.  Such a busy and wonderful day.

Sunday was Mother's Day.
Lots of snuggles and love from my crazies.
Clifton had a fun idea of making Mom cookies.
 They turned out amazing!
I had to do one of Dad too and I think its pretty spot on.

Other fun from the week...
Ice cream man made a visit.
Cut all the boys hair and didn't mess it up!
Watching thunders storms from a distance is pretty.  I never understood why people enjoyed them, but I see now.  The sky turns pretty colors and its eerily quiet.
Started a new rewards system and everyone earned the movie and a treat this week.  We finished reading Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe so we watched the movie.  Fun week!
