A Day with Grandma

Updates on Clifton -
Clifton is  getting beat up by his sister these days.  She tackles him to the floor and often sits on him and he can't get up.  He is our tiny little guy and McKay seems to take advantage of that.  You would have thought it would be the other way around.
Clifton is still loving playing games on my phone and the computer.  This is often what we see when Clifton plays games.  McKay just loves to be where her brother is and do what her brother is doing.  I actually think it is cute that she will sit and watch what Clifton is doing.  And this is really the only time they both sit still!

Updates on McKay -
She is starting to climb or try to climb on everything.  She wants to be on the couch all day long.  I have no idea what makes her want to be up there but she wants to get up there and crawl around.  So I need to be right there to make sure she does not fall off.  I don't get much done during the day:/  She took a couple steps this week.  She is not too sure about this walking thing but she will get there.
Just a cute picture of McKay yawning:)

This week was a tough week for the Peterson's home.  Daylight savings was Sunday and it threw my kiddos off.  They are waking up early and going to bed at the same time.  They are tired but are not sleeping well all because of day light savings.  I am hoping we can get them back on track soon.

A good friend was getting rid of her little exercise trampoline and offered it to us.   Of course I had to snatch it from her.
Clifton was so excited to get a trampoline and it is a great help to get his excess energy out.
McKay loves it too.  And she always has excess energy so anything to wear her out is good as well.
Clifton jumped so much his pants fell down.  He thought it was histerical!

This week we also took a day trip to visit with Grandma.  Alex took the day off and finished some things around his parents house that needed to get done.
Grandma's house had leaves to play in.  Clifton liked the crunchy sound they made when he stepped on them.
 Swinging on Grandma's porch.
Grandma time.  Our kids sure love their Grandma.  I feel so blessed to live close enough to both of our parents and that our kids can have a relationship with both sets of grandparents.
I know it is blurry but it was so stinking cute.  Clifton was rocking in a little chair that Grandma had at her house and he turned to me and said that he wanted to rock McKay.  So I let him.  They had fun!
Hey everyone look at me I am sitting in a chair!

Friday we got together with some friends and did and skittle bowling group date.  It was a ton of fun.
This is Alex doing the Robot and bowling.  A real fun night!  We have some good friends:)

Halloween and Birthday 2012

Updates on Clifton -
He is sure getting bigger and smarter.  He can work the computer and my iPhone really well.  He also can finish a sentence in a rhyming book.
We got him to go potty on the toilet again but it is still a force.  I worry and think I just need to let up because I do not want him to think of potty/toilet as a bad thing and I think he will if I continue to force him to sit on it.
This week Clifton has added a new word to his vocabulary, the word forever.  the other day we were walking down the stairs and he turned to me and said, "I need you forever mom.  Hold my hand forever."  It melted my heart.  I hope that is a promise:)  He now says that he will love us forever.  I think it is so darn cute.

He also keeps us laughing.  This week...
He liked dipping his banana in Cheerio's and eating it.
And he gathered up all his toys on our bed one morning and told me he wanted to cuddle in bed with his toys.  Silly kid!

Updates on McKay -
She sure enjoys being around her brother and following him around.  Anything he is doing she wants to join in.  He does pretty well at letting her play near him or with him until she starts breaking things he did, like train tracks or blocks.  She just wants to be like her brother so much.  It is cute:)
She also started blowing kisses.  She loves using her hands.  Any chance she gets she will wave or clap.

This week we decorated Halloween cookies as a family.  Clifton did pretty well at spreading the frosting.
McKay enjoyed eating them.

The boys and I had a week full of Halloween crafts.
First we made trick or treat bags.  We made ghost and spiders out of hand prints.  They love painting.

Then Alex had left over pumpkins from an activity he did with the YM this week so we decorated them.
 Sticker pumpkin.
 Painting!
 Making a ghost pumpkin.
All three pumpkins after we finished decorating them.  It was fun.

Halloween!!!!!!!

This year Alex and I dressed up as Donald and Daisy Duck.  Clifton and McKay dressed up as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
 I LOVE this picture!

A rainy Halloween this year.  Even though it was a rainy Halloween we still had a lot of fun!
 Trunk or treating!
McKay stealing some candy.

Friday was the first game of the playoffs for the Sounders.  Thanks to wonderful grandparents, we were able to go.  Grandma and Grandpa watched our kids and got us tickets.  We love Grandma and Grandpa very much.  The kids loved having them over to visit and did not even notice we were gone.
It was a good game.  Sadly we tied which is better then a loss.  I bought ponchos for the game and drew the Sounders logo on it because I am too cheap to buy the official Sounders ponchos.  I think they turned out awesome.  Of course it did not rain that night.  But I insisted we wear them for a little.

For my birthday gift I wanted to go paint balling.  I had never done it before and have always thought it would be fun.
 Alex getting his gear ready.
I am filling up my gun with air.  I was afraid it might blow up or something.
Ready to rumble.
I have some great friends and family that were willing to get dirty with me for my birthday!  It was a blast but having them with me made it even more fun.
All ready to go shoot some guns!
After playing!

It was an awesome week.  A fun week with the kids doing crafts and celebrating Halloween and then a GREAT birthday!  I am one lucky lady!  Thanks to all who helped make my birthday wonderful:)

Carving Pumpkins

Updates on Clifton -
Clifton is really getting into computer and phone games lately and I am rather surprised at how well he gets the concept of playing on the computer and phone.
He has also learned that there is a difference between spooky and scary.  He has been really frightful lately but understanding that things might be spooky like ghost and monsters are not for real and he does not need to be scared.  It is a good step and has helped out this holiday.

Updates on McKay -
She is clapping all day and all night.  She learned how to clap and seriously does it all day.  Alex was trying to put her to sleep and she was clapping with her were eyes closed and he was rocking her:)  It is cute though.  She also LOVES to wave.  She will wave all day long.

For family night we carved our pumpkins!  One of my favorite things to do around this time.
Clifton helped me scoop out my pumpkin guts.
Then we started decorating his pumpkins with potato head parts.  I let him choose whatever part he wanted and where he wanted it.
I think it turned out pretty cute.  He calls it is monster pumpkin.

I put together McKay's.
Yep he is using a drill to carve his pumpkin!
Alex and my final product.  I am not going to lie I think they look pretty dang good.

For pack meeting (cub scouts) this month I took the boys to a fire station.  I of course brought Clifton along with me.
He loved it.  Apparently something was funny:)
 Isn't he cute?
It was a fun night.

This week the boys and I made a spider web and threw paper at it and got it caught in the web.  They liked it.
Especially the throwing part:)

There is a ranch in Port Orchard that was doing a festival and had a ton of free events.  One of which was a tractor ride.  Of course I had to load the kiddos up and go!
Doesn't she look so cute all bundled up?
 On the tractor ride.
There were also hay mazes and animals to visit.  It was a fun afternoon even though I pushed nap time for everyone.

Well its rainy season (who am I kidding we live in Washington it's always rainy season) so we got some rain boots, thanks to Denyal, and went and played in the rain.
Clifton liked it.  Next time I will have to find more impressive puddles for him to jump into.

Saturday there was a spooky train ride going on at a park.  So we got the kids dressed up even though it was raining and spent the evening at the park.
 Mickey Mouse
 Minnie Mouse
 Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Waiting in the rain for the train ride.
Going for a ride.  It was a little spookier then I was expecting.  There were a few people who jumped out at you.  But we could see them coming so Clifton and I would yell boo first and try to scare them.  That way it was not scary!
