Dads Will be Dads! (And that's why we love them)

Updates on Clifton -
He is getting really animated when he talks. Usually when he is excited about something or when he is talking about bad guys:)  It is so cute.  He will raise his eye brows and make great expressions when he is talking.  I love it.  He is also loving stories.  He begs us to tell him stories every night.  He tries to get us to tell him as many as possible each night.  And he enjoys joining in on the story telling.

Updates on McKay -
Loves her princesses.  She prays for them.  It melts my heart to hear her say in her cute little voice "bless Ariel, bless Belle...." She sleeps with her princesses (Ariel is the most important).  She still loves being called princess.  She is very much our little princess.

For FHE we wanted to do the Olympics because it has been on all week at our house and we all have been enjoying watching the sports.  We talked about the different people that all come together.  And that we love everyone no matter what they look or speak like.  Then we played some games:)
We had to get prepared by wearing our helmets and goggles:)

We played aerials (they jumped off the couch and tried to do a cool trick), cross country skiing (scooted on paper across kitchen), bob sledding (just sat in a row and pretended to go right and left down a hill), and slalom (set up chairs and they would run in and out of them as fast as they could).  Clifton was all about this!  He has Alex and my competitiveness.  He would want to do it again and again to see if he could beat his own time.
And we ended with an award ceremony.  A very fun night!  I love FHE and that my kids love doing it.  Hopefully we can always keep their interest in FHE.

Dads will be dads and that is why we love them so much:)
These kiddos sure love playing with their daddy.

Friday our little friend Madi had a princess and pirate birthday party.
Clifton and McKay loved their first time hitting a piƱata.  Especially Clifton.
Super fun party!

Saturday we had a fun day at the mall playing and shopping.
Train ride!

Valentines 2014

Updates on McKay -
She loves helping me cook.  Any time I go to the kitchen to cook she grabs the stool and climbs up to help.  Its cute!
She has been getting along better with her brother.  Still has some hits but not nearly as bad as last week.  Hopefully we can continue to get better and better at not hitting and yelling.

Updates on Clifton -
He seems to be doing better this week as well.  We still have to sit down often and talk about the attitude he has.
He gave his first talk in primary.  Well it was more like first couple words.  He was too scared to give his talk but I did get amen and a few other things out of him.  Practice!  Hopefully he won't always be afraid.

Last hip hop class.  McKay joined them this week:)
I can't wait to be able to sign her up for classes.  She loves dancing and participating in any activity!

Wednesday I got a call from Alex in the middle of the day that his cars wheel/steering broke.  He could not steer.  Luckily he was going pretty slow because he was leaving the base.  So we went to rescue him.  He could not leave the car because it was technically still on base.  So we all had to wait for the tow truck.  And the tow truck took almost two hours!!!!  So what do we do with the time?
Make silly faces of course!

Thursday the preschool I teach had a Valentines party.
The kids wore the shirts they made.
We had so much fun making and eating heart shaped pizzas, decorating valentines bags, playing with a parachute, and passing out and getting valentines.  I love holidays!  It was a fun day.

Friday was Valentines day!
I made breakfast.  That doesn't happen very often.  But since it was a holiday I made heart shaped pancakes.  And it was a HIT!
Later that night we made heart shaped pizzas for dinner and heart shaped cinnamon rolls for dessert.
And Alex surprised us all with gifts (we don't usually do gifts) and flowers.  It was very sweet and the kids of coursed loved it.

That night Alex and I had planned a date to go ballroom dancing at the Y.
Since we were going dancing my friend did my make up all cute and put my hair up in a bun.  When I came home all done up Clifton said "how did you get so pretty?".  I guess they are used to their lazy mom:)  And McKay insisted on wearing what I had on.  She kept pointing to my lips and saying "I want".  My friend let me borrow her red lip stick so I put some on McKay.  It was both of our first time wearing red lip stick:)
We had a blast dancing!  Brings back memories when we went dancing at least once a week.  Best Valentines day ever!

Snow Time

Updates on McKay -
She is definitely two and it is definitely terrible.  She hits her brother like crazy!!!  Not saying Clifton is always innocent but half the time he is doing nothing and she attacks him.  Lots of tears and tantrums.  But I am sure hopefully we can figure this out and teach her these behaviors are not going to get her anything she wants.
Her new thing is drinking juice and chocolate milk at the same time.  It makes me laugh.  What  a weirdo!

Updates on Clifton -
Man does he have attitude!  This one is hard for me to teach and punish.  Its often easy for me to brush off and move on.  But I need to be consistent and let him know it is not okay.  Discipline... always harder on the parent.

For FHE we had some friends join us and we played popcorn olympics to get excited for the Olympics that were starting this week.
It was so much fun.  We made a whole bunch of popcorn.  We played three games.  Popcorn toss into partners mouth (kids throw and then parents throw), popcorn drop (stand on chair and drop popcorn into cup on floor), and popcorn blow (blow popcorn with a straw across the table).  The kids LOVED it and we really enjoyed it as well.  I am afraid though of the next time we make popcorn.  I hope they don't think we can throw popcorn all over every time:)

Saturday we went and saw the Lego movie.  It was pretty cute.  Clifton really enjoyed it.

And when we got of the movie theater it was SNOWING!!!!
As soon as we got home we meet up with our friends and went sledding with them.  Which was awesome!  Clifton has been asking to go sledding for the last couple weeks so he got his fill.
Clifton was all about the snow.  We spent a total of four hours that day playing in the snow.  He made his own snowman and then helped me make a monster snowman.
Then we got the jeep out and he got a lesson on how to drive in the snow:)  It was so fun!  I pretty much ran along side him making sure he didn't get stuck.  He thought this was the coolest thing ever.
Of course we had to pick up his friend!  I love this picture:)  I think it captures our two crazy kiddos! And this is what happens when you let women drive, totally just joking!
McKay didn't stay out nearly as long as Clifton but she really enjoyed playing in the snow as well.  And she looked so stinking cute all bundled up.

Heart Attack with Love

Updates McKay -
She has had a difficult week:/  She is pushing and hitting a lot lately.  Mostly aimed at he brothers but she is hitting other kids too.  It makes me so sad to see her do mean things.  So a lot of screaming, tears, and time outs.  Hopefully this is a phase and it will pass soon.  But I have a feeling we will have weeks full of the same thing until she has finally learned its less fun to hit than go to time out.

She is doing well at walking and not being held all the time.  We do have to remind her.
However we are still getting lots of cuddle time.

Updates on Clifton -
He has had a tough week as well.  He has so much attitude.  He has something to say about everything even if it has nothing to do with him.  I often think about him and what he might do with his life when he grows up.  Like I have thought maybe a contractor or architect because he loves watching tractors.   Anyway this last week I am thinking he will be a debater/politician.  Just because he loves to debate about every single thing:/

For FHE we got cut hearts out of sticky notes.  Then I asked what they loved about each person and we wrote them on the sticky notes.  Once we came up with all the ways we love each other.  We heart attacked each other with the sticky notes.
It was a fun night!

McKay loves doing Zumba with me.  She begs to go to my "dance class".  She only stays for about twenty minutes but I love dancing with her.  I hope she always shares the love of dancing with me:)
She does the moves too but of course when I start recording she just bounced to the music.  Its still insanely cute!

Clifton, McKay and I had fun at hip hop wednesday.  The teacher was teaching them about free style.
It's a cute class!  McKay sure wishes she was in the class.

Sunday was the Superbowl!!!  We were very excited to spend the day with family and cheer on the Seahawks.  Plans changed a little when we were not told the correct place to meet and ended up at Alex's parents house.  Luckily his dad stayed home by himself because he wasn't feeling so great.  So we got Grandpa all to ourselves and enjoyed watching the game with him.

It's not very often we get Grandpa all to ourselves.  So we really enjoyed the day even tough it did not go as planned.  We love Grandpa!!!
