Hazen Turns 2 and Alex's Birthday

We are loving summer in Texas.  We play hard everyday.  Usually at the pool.

But anything to do with water we are out playing.
One of our favorite activities is to face/body paint on each other and then jump in the sprinkler to rinse it off.

Lucky to have friends to play with, that makes it even better.

On Wednesday Hazen turned 2!  I can hardly believe he is getting so big.  We just love the boy he is, silly, speaks with sound effects, loves to give hugs and kisses, loves airplanes and trains, and sure loves playing in water.

We headed to a new splash pad to celebrate his big day.  Then stopped at Buc-ee's for some kolaches and treats for lunch.
The older kids helped me make his airplane cake and we thought it turned out pretty cute.  Hazen was impressed.

Haha Alex accidentally stole Hazen's thunder,  I guess Alex couldn't wait one day to blow out his own candles ;)

Then we played with his new toy.  He was too scared to drive it by himself so I helped show him it wasn't scary.

Then next day was Alex's birthday.  The kids and I secretly decorated his office so he woke up to this.

He doesn't like making his birthday so I tried to not overdo it.

Friday we went to a waterpark for Hazen's birthday party, just us but we had a blast.

It was a fun day playing in the sun!

Then Saturday to celebrate Alex's birthday we went on a date to Medieval Times.

We ate with our hands, cheered on Knights and enjoyed ourselves. Fun date!

Sunday for church we made our title of liberties of what we would fight for and then we fought a battle.  We allowed the kids to protect themselves with helmets, shields and whatever they wanted to teach them the importance of being prepared and wearing our spiritual armor.  The bad guys (Alex and I) shot them with nerf guns while they ran around.  We had then try running around with no protection and talked about the difference.

Fun and hopefully meaningful church day.
Then we invited our friends over to do a bakeoff with us.  This time sugar cookies and McKay was the judge!  Ashley won with her pretty pink flowers.

Other fun from the week...

How I have to brush Hazen's teeth now.  Just too wiggly!
Aren't they so cute!  We love them and sure are happy they like each other.
