Fathers Day

Updates on Clifton -
He has been making sentences for a while now but he now sometimes puts words together and makes them one word when they should be two or three different words. It makes me giggle. He is such a joy and we love having him in our lives:)
Silly boys!

Updates on McKay -
She is officially our little cat napper.  She only naps for about a half an hour.  So some days it is 3 or 4 cat naps and that's it.  I am not too fond of it, but this too shall pass.  She does pretty well at night so I will take that.  She is our early riser, too:/  Just when I thought Clifton's six am wake up call was bad McKay comes along with a five am wake up call.  Sleep will happen again some day, maybe!?!

She is cute though:) Cowgirl McKay!

She sat in the high chair for the first time.  We had some friends over for dinner and thought putting the bumbo on the table was not appropriate and we did not have enough room so we put her in the high chair.  She looked so tiny in it... I think I will keep her in the bumbo to eat a little longer.

For our FHE activity, we went on a bike ride to a park.

McKay got in a swing the first time.  She liked it!
Not as much as Clifton, though.  He loves it:)

We had a few sunny days this week and we took full advantage of them.
I got the small kids' pool out and filled it with water and bubbles and let the boys splash in it.  The had a blast and played for almost two hours in the water.
We painted the sidewalk with sidewalk paint.
I got the boys some cheap squirt guns.  I am not a big fan of pretend weapons for toys, but I felt this was okay and something that I had to be paying 100% attention to to keep an eye on them so it would not turn into rough play.  They totally loved it.  I love Clifton's shooting face!
 Sprinkler time!
It was still a little too chilly for it so Clifton needed to cuddle in a towel to recover.

For Fathers Day the kids and I made Alex a shirt and Evan made his dad a shirt.
Long story short it did not turn out as planned.  Due to lack of reading instructions.  Last time I used the iron on stuff it had a clear background and I just assumed this one did so I made the letters light to go on a dark shirt come to find out it was on a white background.  Oh well it turned out cute.  The boys really liked painting there hands and making hand prints.  Funny thing is I just thought of the idea and a few days later at WalMart they had a kit that had a shirt that said the same thing and paint to make hand prints. Who knew:/

Friday Alex and I went out on a date.  Alex being the sweetheart he is brought home flowers.  We went to see Avengers.  It was a long movie so it made me nervous to leave McKay that long.  There is something about leaving my babies for a long time that still makes me nervous.  But I am glad we went out.  We had fun and she did just fine without me.

Saturday we went to Alex's parents' house to celebrate Fathers' day and June birthdays.  For Fathers' day Alex's dad wanted help with his yard.  So the boys got busy working hard.

Clifton liked watching Andrew pressure wash and getting a little wet too.
And then jumping in the puddles he left behind.
Clifton also helped move branches into the burn pile.
Then decided to become part of the burn pile.  Silly kiddo!

Clifton was very sweet and would pick up flowers and give them to me.
Baby Kay and I wearing flowers Clifton gave to us.
Cousin time!

Since Fathers' day just happened I wanted to talk about Alex.  Well brag... The kids and I are so lucky to have him in our lives.  We all love him very much.  He is the best father and husband anyone could ask for:)  He is so involved in McKay and Clifton's lives and always willing to help with them.

Well another week and another pound down.  I guess I can only lose a pound a week.  But hey it is negative.  Five more (so probably five more weeks).  I did not get a long run in this week:(  Real busy.  But I will get it in next week. I do not want to lose my progress.  I am hoping to have time for a 13 mile run.  I have been considering trying to do a half marathon and a full marathon this summer, but have not decided if that is pushing myself too hard.  We will see.  I would love to do a full marathon!!!!!  But it might need to wait until next summer.

Rain with some sun breaks

 Updates on Clifton -
He willingly went to nursery today.  Walked in and did not mind when Alex left.  I think it is official... I think he is a nursery going child:) Thank goodness!  I think he realized nursery is more fun then mom and dads class.
Clifton has started something new that I really like.  He ask to play with friends.  He wants to go out and play with other kids.  For a while there he did not want to be around other kids (besides Evan of course).  But everyday now he ask to go play with a friend.  I like it.  That may be the reason he goes to nursery, he likes playing with "friends".

Updates on McKay -
Poor girl had a tough week. She got thrush:(  It was not horrible but she was fighting to eat, which is nothing too new.  My kids have acid reflux and have often fought to eat.  Thanks to great friends and their wonderful advice (shout out to Amy for letting us borrow her medicine) she was able to quickly get over it.  It just left her mouth a little purple:)

For FHE this week I talked about prayer.  Clifton has been often saying no to praying and not folding his arms.  So I decided to talk about how to pray.  It was very cute.  Clifton would repeat everything I did.  Then later that night we had a closing prayer and bed time prayer.  He folded his arms, closed his eyes and listened.  Now every time we pray (almost)  he does that and says Amen.  It melts my heart to see him do something I taught/told him to do.

Then for activity we played some games together as a family:)
He is doing well at taking turns and waiting.  I think he is a pretty good boy!

The boys and I tried to get outside whenever the rain stopped

They wanted to play on the slide so I told them to dry it off first.  I think they had more fun doing that then sliding down it:)
Chalk!
I accidentally left the dirt bin open when it was raining.  MUD!!!! The boys loved it.  I let them play in it for a little and then got ride of it.  But they enjoyed it while it lasted.
The best thing about rainy days with sun breaks... puddles!
Best friends!

Saturday McKay and I had a girls day out.  My good friend from college had a baby shower.  It was near Seattle so we made a trip out of it.  Just McKay and I.

Waiting for the ferry.  (I missed it by a minute so we had to wait for the next one:/)
 Riding the ferry!
Melody and her cute little baby bump.  It was a great shower:)  And I loved seeing Melody!

This week I lost another pound.  Six more to go.  Getting there slowly, but getting there.  Feeling good in general, feeling strong.  I did not get a long distance run in this week, while a five mile run but that was it.  It is getting harder and harder to keep training for a half marathon, but I am going to do it.  I really want to run a half marathon in two hours so I need to keep up on my distance runs on the weekends.

Silly kids!

Updates on Clifton -
He went to nursery today!!!!!  I stayed with him for about five to ten minutes and then left after he was playing.  No tears!  Nothing!!!  Hopefully this becomes the trend:)  But we shall see.
He will sit on the toilet sometimes when I ask.  Which is a huge step.  I don't think he is ready to start yet but at least he does not scream "no" and run away when I ask if he wants to sit on the toilet. He does not go potty but will sit for a little.  I do not want to push or rush him so I will wait till he is 100% ready but continue to give him that option.

He continues to be our silly little man and making us laugh all day long.

He still really loves his sister.  I hope he continues to love her as much as he does now.  It warms my heart:)

Updates on McKay -
She still has a lingering cough:(  I took her in to the doctors just to make sure.  They said everything looks and sounds fine just a bad cold.  There was a ton of fluid in her ears so I am hoping they does not get infected:/
She is a talker and a screamer.  All day long she is discovering her voice and what it can do.  She is still wiggling like crazy.  She is getting close to crawling.  She can get up on her hands and knees but cannot get herself to go forward.  She tries but ends up going backwards.

Anything that gets next to McKay's mouth has to go in her mouth.  Well really anything in her sight she wants to get and put in her mouth.

For FHE activity this week we had a fun evening in our backyard.  Alex set up our tent and started coals going in a pot (got the idea from pinterest).

And then we roasted marshmallows over the coals and made s'mores.
It was a fun evening!  Clifton loved playing and just being in the tent.

I got a toy out for McKay (that use to be Clifton's) and it entertained all of them for about an hour.
I went to put McKay down for a nap and when I came down the stairs this is what I saw.  Silly silly boy!

With off and on rain all week I had to keep the boys busy inside.  We had a ton of fun this week.  First we did some finger painting, which Clifton loved.

Then we cleaned up after finger painting and played in water and soap bubbles.

We got domino's out and made train tracks out of them.

Then we had a few sun breaks throughout the days and I sent them outside to play while I worked in the yard.

Clifton insisted he should help pull weeds:)

Friday I went over to a friends house who has been doing tie dye and made some shirts for the family for the Fourth of July.  Thanks to Amy they turned out great.  I am excited to wear them together.

Friday night Alex and I went to the batting cages for a date night.  I had a blast. If you know me then you know I am pretty competitive even if I am most likely going to lose.  I one once though!  (we counted points of how far/where we hit the balls)

Saturday we went to Gig Harbor's town festival.  It was a cute little festival and they were doing and giving a ton of free things away.

Like this blow up pirate boat.  He climbed up and then went down the slide.  It was super fun.  He did really well waiting in line too.

 A kids' obstacle course.

They had a pretty princess there that had kids costumes to dress up as a princess and take a picture with her.
They also had the new safest trampoline there (with no springs) and people could test it out.  So of course our crazy little boy went wild jumping on the trampoline.

I love my two boys!

This week I lost about one pound.  I blame it not being more on Alex.  He brought treats into the house.  I have the hardest time stopping myself if I know they are in the house.  I do not crave them if they are not in sight.  7 more to go and hoping to get there soon.  I am ready for a make over and new outfit. (my award for reaching my weight loss goal)
