Texas Snowmageddon 2021

It was the craziest week we had in Texas ever.  Temperatures dropped even lower getting as low as -1! We got a few more inches of snow (about 4 total).  Which doesn't sound like much of a snowmageddon but for Texas it is.  Nothing to help the roads.  Power going out everywhere because the demand is higher.  They were supposed to do rolling power outages an hour or two off and an hour or two on, but the power company really messed up and just turned off peoples for days!  We were very blessed to never lose power so we housed two families that didn't have power.  School was canceled all week, stores were shut down, water companies lost water which meant we had to boil water and then we lost all water supplies.  We filled our bathtubs up with water to use to flush toilets and to wash dishes.  Luckily we were good on food and drinking water supply.

We made sure to get out and play while the sun was shining.

Then our house got really full and pretty crazy but super fun!
Thats 11 kids, 6 adults, two cats and 1 dog!
One giant sleep over and my kids were thrilled.  They must have played hard cause they all went down really well.
After two nights they all had power back and head back home.  Wow what a fun and tiring couple days.

Wednesday we got a couple more inches of snow!
More fun in the snow with friends.  As much as I love snow its so stupid cold that its harder to enjoy.  And it's wreaking a lot of havoc.  So I'm ready for the warmer Texas to come back.

We are so happy to finally have water back!
And to continue to have a warm house.
And to go to the store and get fresh fruit and vegetables.

The snow finally melted and my poor succulents didn't look so good.  I don't think most of them will make it.
Hoping we can save some them.

McKay asked to make cookies with NO help.  Well that was messy but they turned out pretty good.
Church was canceled cause the building had a couple burst pipes.  But the church put out a Friend to Friend, we enjoyed watching it very much!  Hopefully they do more.
