Colorado - McClellan Family Reunion

After the 4th of July we got int he car for a long drive to Colorado.  I planned a few stops along the way to help break up the drive.  But they didn't work out great, ha!  First stop Wichita Falls but its man made and I guess they turn off the water sometimes.  And I guess when we planned to visit was the sometimes.  But still good to stretch our legs.
Palo Duro Canyon but they were full so we didn't get into the park but saw some of the views.  Another fail on my part.  But we learned it is the second largest canyon in the US.

Cadillac Ranch spray painting cars they put into the ground.  But it had just randomly down poured so LOTS of mud.

But still a fun stop.  None of the stops worked out the way we planned it but I still think it was a successful first leg of the trip.

Spent the night in NM.

Then the next day the one stop we made, made up for the day before fails.  Stopped in Colorado Springs Cliff Dwellings.

SO SO cool!  We had a lot of fun.

But then we arrived at the YMCA lodge we thought it was at and found out there are two YMCA camps.  We went to the wrong one,  the one we were supposed to go to was another 2 hours away.  But that meant we had to drive through the Rocky Mountains.  And that was the most beautiful peaceful part of the drive.  The Rocky Mountains were amazing!

AND we finally made it.  Time to see family!  We haven't had a reunion in years.  Ever since Grandpa M passed away.
We had to get out and enjoy the nature.  Hike to a waterfall with Aunt Andrea.

Bubble fun!

Miniature golf.
Roller skating.
Giant inner tube slide.

My cousin married Alex's cousin.  We got to know each other through the family reunions and it was so nice to see him again and catch up.

And meet his newest addition.

On our way home we made a pit stop at Colorado's Great Sand Dunes.

This was everyones favorite part of the trip.  SO dang fun! Super awesome trip.  So happy that things went well.
